How Queensland land tax works

Queensland land tax is based on the land you own at midnight on 30 June each year. Individuals have a tax-free threshold of $600,000. Companies and trusts have a lower threshold of $350,000 and different rates.

Absentee owners (people who don't normally live in Australia) and foreign companies and trusts pay an additional surcharge. Check the Queensland Revenue Office for the current rate.
